Art Awareness Day!

Today your child learned about Op Art and British artist Bridget Riley.

Arrest, 1965 Two Blues, 2003

Today we learned:

Op Art is short for Optical Art

Optical Art plays tricks on your eyes

Bridget Riley is referred to as the “mother” of Op Art

Value is light, medium, and dark within an object or color that makes it look 3-dimensional

We practiced achieving value using our pencil and then a crayon. Then we created some fun scribble art

using these skills!
