Allan Parks & Recreation: We are officially into fall!
The new playground equipment and swing set will be installed on Tuesday, October 14th! The Allan Parks & Recreation Board hopes you are as
excited as we are to see Centennial Park come to life! A special shout out to the Allan Bowl & Recreation Center as they contributed a very gener-
ous donation of $525.00 raised from the Ladies Night last spring for the playground equipment. We cannot thank you enough for your support!
Also – a huge thank you to everyone that purchased a raffle ticket for our Playground Raffle! The winners were $50.00 – Brian & Brenda Bes-
wick, $150.00 – Agnes & Richard Hernter, $300.00 – Mary Virtue. Congratulations and thanks again! With the community’s help we raised
$540.00 from the Playground Raffle to be put towards installation costs. If you are interested in volunteering on Tues, Oct. 14th, we are in need of
people to remove dirt from the area, unpack the equipment and begin assembly starting at 9:00 AM. Contact Vanessa at 306-257-3272 to join us in
this exciting community project!

News from the Town of Allan
Remember our new Population Growth Program. You can get up to $7,000.00 in tax credits for building a new house in Allan. We still have
good lots available on Alpine Crescent, reasonably priced, starting at $33,000.00.
Council now requires that all trailers, recreational vehicles, automobiles and other equipment and goods be removed from town owned land. There
are liability issues with respect to these items/vehicles being on public property, and this will be enforced. This includes areas behind Sylvite Cres-
cent, on the Alpine Crescent subdivision or anywhere in town where your belongings are parked on publically owned vacant lots or land. As well,
we have toured the town recently and there are approximately 20 recreation vehicles parked on the streets. These must be removed as soon as
possible to facilitate snow removal and unless moved soon, no fall road work can be done in these areas. We also remind people that rodent popu-
lations in the area are very high this year, it’s best to remove any areas where these critters can live.
Council intends to hold a public meeting, to discuss various topics of interest at the Allan Parkland Hall on Tuesday, October 28th at 7:00 p.m.
The Council has passed a bylaw which charges anyone draining ground/storm water into the sanitary sewer system a surcharge of $30.00 per quar-
ter for any sump pumps or weeping tile drained into you floor drain. Council has also established a policy whereby if you route your sump pumps
out of the sanitary sewer system, you will be allowed a one-time tax credit for 2015 for all work completed by December 31, 2014. This will also
exempt you from the storm water surcharge. Each property owner will be mailed a letter or has been mailed a letter to explain the process and
programs.
