Prayer for Our Troops Almighty God, we commend to your gracious care and keeping all the men and women of our Armed Forces at home and abroad. Defend them day by day with your heavenly grace; strengthen them in their trials and temptations; give them courage to face the perils which beset them; and grant them a sense of your abiding presence wherever they may be. Amen.
For the Sacrament of Baptism, parents must be registered parishioners at OLM and attend classes prior to a child’s baptism. Contact Scott Curran to set up an appoint-ment for the class. For Spanish, contact Leyda Rojas.

The Consortium Needs Tutors!
The Seton Home Study Consortium needs tutors to support parents who are providing a home study Catholic education for their children grades K-12. Tutoring in tandem with parents occurs on Mondays and
Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at OLM in Fr. Denis Hall. Tutors would work one-on-one with students to complete the learning assignments that the parents provide. Full day, half day, and substitute tutors are needed. Any Catholic who loves children and loves learning is welcome. Come and be a part of this exciting initiative to establish a low-cost Catholic education opportunity for families in our community! If interested, call or text Denise Curran at 210-452-5358.
St. Vincent de Paul Society Food Drive October 20th/21st
The St. Vincent de Paul Society, Our Lady of the Mountains Conference, is asking for your help in meeting the critical needs of the CARES Food Pantry of Pickens County. The following items are in high demand, but all donations are appreciated: laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid, soap and shampoo (hotel-style, if possible), pasta, cereal, grits, peanut butter and jelly, rice, soups and broths, crackers, mac and cheese, canned meat, canned fruit. Please DO NOT leave donations in the Narthex; leave them in Fr. Denis Hall on or under the designated table. We have fallen short the last couple of drives, so please, help us to restock the CARES Food Pantry. Thank you!
St. Hubert’s Guild Campout! November 10th/11th
All OLM fathers and sons, come join the St. Hubert’s Guild for their campout! We’ll have an archery competition, bonfire, and fellowship. Don’t miss out on this great
weekend event! Contact Brad Scott, bscottusa@gmail.com, or Peter Zeliff, peterzeliff@gmail.com for more information.
One of the great things about being Catholic is our tradition and our music and our prayers. All of that comes together in an extraordinary way each year at the beginning of November. Consequently, each year here at OLM we have our solemn All Souls Requiem Mass. The Roman Canon is chanted in Latin, and we hear all the beautiful chants of the Requiem Mass. It starts our All Souls Novena, and gives us all an opportunity to come hear beautiful music and pray for our beloved dead, mourn a bit those we miss, but also reflect on the mercy of God and our hoped-for salvation. This year, the Mass will be held in the evening, Friday, November 2nd at 6:00 p.m. (the ordinary Friday morning Mass is canceled that day).
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord!
