CIP Project Overview
• ESPC/CIP) is a phased implementation:– Phase 1 – CEMSCS (POES)– Phase 1.5 – Metop– Phase 2 – SATEPS (GOES)– Phase 3 – SATEPS, Fail-over Test, Documentation
• Product Priority:– Phase 1 and 1.5:
• Critical Products determined by users• Priority 1 = 24 hour RTS• Priority 2 = 48 hour RTS• Priority 3 = No CIP Requirement
– Phase 2 and 3:• Critical Products determined by Products Group• Priority 0 = 2 hour RTS• Priority 1 = 24 hour RTS• Priority 2 = 48 hour RTS• Priority 3 = No CIP Requirement

Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Failover Testing
– ESPC-CIP proof of concept test March 2010- Completed
– Planned ESPC-CIP failover test May 2010- Delayed due to customer impact on products not included in CIP and technical issues
– Efforts Underway to ensure user concerns are addressed prior to executing failover:
– Identified path forward for the operational implementation of IASI and ACSAT at CIP (end of June 2010)
– Identifying alternative data sources for products not supported by CIP
– Technical Issues:
– Bandwidth Measurements indicate a communications upgrade will required (August/September)
– ESPC Management to review the detailed test plans when delivered (end of May)
– Work with customers to identify target dates (Aug/Sep)
– ORR and CR will occur following successful fail-over
