The Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credit Pipeline Initiative:

• ProvidessmallgrantsandtechnicalassistancetoassistinnominatingbuildingsanddistrictstotheNationalRegisterofHistoricPlaces.

• CreatesapipelineofpropertiesthatareeligibleforredevelopmentassistancethroughtheOhioHistoricPreservationTaxCreditprogram.

• Helpscommunitiesandpropertyownersadvanceredevelopmentofunderutilizedhistoricbuildings.

Eligible Applicants: Propertyowners,localgovernments,civicorganizationsandotherrelatedentitiesareeligibletoapply.Dependingontheprojecttype,documentedsupportofthebuildingowner(s)mayberequired.

Potential Funding: Fourprojecttypesareeligibleforfunding:

-TypeA:NominationforIndividualBuilding($4,000)

-TypeB:NominationofaHistoricDistrict($12,000)

-TypeC:IntegrityInvestigationofaBuilding($12,000)

-TypeD:MultiplePropertyPlanning($8,000)

Theapplicationdocumentprovidesguidanceonthespecificactivitiespermittedandrequirementsofeachprojecttype.FundswillbedisbursedbytheStateHistoricPreservationOfficeoftheOhioHistoryConnectionandcanbeusedtowarddocumentedthird-partyexpenses;norecepientstaffcostswillbereimbursed.

Program Requirements: Fundingwillbeprioritizedforprojectsthatcreatethegreatestpotentialforpropertiestoberedevelopedwithcommercialormulti-familyhousinguses.ApplicantswillberequiredtosubmitaNationalRegisterPreliminaryQuestionnairetotheStateHistoricPreservationOfficetoreceivearecommendationthatpropertieshavepotentialtoqualifyfortheNationalRegisterand/orthegrantprojectisarecommendedtool.

Timeline for Application: Applicationsareacceptedonanopencycle.Fororganizationsandindividualsinterestedintheinitiative,theOfficeofStrategicBusinessInvestmentsmaintainsaninterestedpartieslisttodistributeprograminformation.
