BIM’s Skills Development Programme

BIM NATIONAL SEAFOOD CONFERENCE 2017

Where we are now: Issues in the Industry

• Negative image/ stigma • Not seen as a career or profession • Limited career progression • No allowance for life-long learning/ portable skills • Distinct lack of training culture • Lack of professionalism and sophistication in the industry • Difficult to attract new entrants • Limited pool of talent

BIM’s Training Division

• Gaps in training across the board

• Training not integrated

• Delivery restrictive

BIM needs to be more ambitious in developing the entire pipeline
