Background
Historically, Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has acted as the custodian of the E&P data for Oman.
Recent increase in exploration activity has brought to light shortcomings in this approach, e.g.:
– Potential conflicts between PDO’s role as an operator vs. its role as the data custodian
– Increased volume of data requests from the new Operators In order to preserve (and optimise the value of) the E&P data, Ministry of Oil
& Gas (MOG) initiated a project to build, populate and operate a National Data Repository, independent of any operator, for and on behalf of the Sultanate of Oman, and regulated by MOG.

OGDR Phases
Seismic Phase OGDR Seismic project started in 2007. Contracted out to Halliburton :
– Site setup (hardware & software) , – Populate pre 2009 seismic data (3D, 2D, VSP, magnetic).– Train MOG personnel.– Operate & handover
To date 50% of legacy seismic data is Qced & loaded.
Well Phase Covers logs & well associated documents. Project at scoping stage.
Future PhasesProduction Data, Engineering Data, Cores & Cuttings
