Load taken as 1 KW.
Site conditions
24 KWh is required per day of this load
4 KWh from solar ( 2KWh from peak 4 hours during summers)
4 KWh from DG (4 hours of DG run)
16 KWh from Battery and solar
In 4 hours of DG run pumping in 20 KWh into battery @ C15 taking 50% to 70% efficiency, get 10 to 14 KWh from Battery is a shortfall of 6 to 2 KWh which would be taken from battery and it would be in partial discharge always.

• It is seen that the load itself is not being fulfilled by the Solar panels and there is no additional energy to charge the batteries during daytime.
• To overcome this short fall either to increase the panel size, install micro wind turbine depending on wind condition.
• For average 1600W load ideal solar panel size is 6kWP (60 sqm area of solar panels).
• Suggested solution would be
• 3kWP from solar (30m^2)
• 3~4.5kWP from wind turbine
• Battery bank to be sized properly based on the panel size, load and Depth of discharge required. Remote monitoring of BB health to be done.
• Automation of cell site to improve uptime and proper monitoring.

DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS 1. Two things to be considered for design validation for these small scale
turbines 1. Rotor frequency of the turbine vs structure on which it is
mounted. 2. The load from the turbine of the tower.
2. The global natural frequency of tower and local rotational frequency of top tube used to install the turbine in the top of tower should not coincidence.
3. For utility scale turbines, operating intervals typically range from 10 to 50 rpm correspond to operating frequencies between 0.16 and 0.83 Hz for smaller turbines.
4. The natural frequency of the wind turbine support structure must remain above the largest operating frequency of a particular turbine by an appropriate factor, typically between 1.1 and 2, in order to avoid resonance at any point throughout the turbine’s operational interval.
5. Major business for Opco/IP’s are active sharing and hence installing solar/turbine may reduce tower capacity if it installed on existing tower.
6. Tower design stability shall be dependent on solar/turbine & antenna loading specification and need to be validated on case to case basis.
7. For optimum solution cost of tower structure, preferred to include loads of solar/turbine in the initial design to avoid additional retrofitting costs.
