• hands-on and interactive nature • built up of a wide range of activities in various

formats • small workshop sessions as well as conventional

(public) lectures and debates • Paper sessions• Face to face dialogue• all zooming in on particular aspects of festival

management, including artistic vision, political and social responsibility, internationalization, networking, audience development, renewal and sustainability.

2006 – First edition of the European Atelier in Görlitz, Germany...

• Participants include managers working for festivals and others launching new events.

• They are asked to present a proposal for a new festival or event, or to suggest how to renew an existing one.

• These papers that allow a focused selection are used as references during the entire workshop.
