Who we are & what we do

5

We are biologists and computer scientists, i.e. biomaticians

We make (Data - Information - Knowledge) Bases

We apply Sign Management and Activity Theory (UCD)

We do Biodiversity Informatics in situ (Enhancement of herbarium and coral collections at University of Reunion Island)

We intend to do it in vivo (Management of the natural patrimony of the Reunion National Park) in a Reunion Island Living Lab

What we will do in ViBRANT

5

We will use ViBRANT tools and services for Data enhancement in our regional context and applications (University of Reunion Island collections)

We will tell about our Iterative Knowledge Base System made with Descriptive Logics and Ontologies for specimen description, classification, and identification purpose

We will link the Scratchpads with our modules in the NEXTIC programme for going from database systems to Information Services through Web Services
