To help every student be successful, we will fill out agendas and organize green take-home folders daily. Please help your child create a backpack/homework drop spot and a study area at home. By organizing responsibilities at school and at home, we can work together to help your child develop important habits that will be helpful in the future. Being organized is something we can learn and practicetogether.
-
Our regular homework will consist of 20 minutes of reading time at home each night. Please help your child accomplish this by creating a quiet environment and joining, if possible. Also, students will write a letter home each week explaining concepts learned and information about the upcoming week. Please sign the letter. Your child will bring it back to school on Monday. I encourage you to write a response. Thank you!
-
Students will be responsible for keeping data folders. Data folders will be used to show student progress. These folders will be shared at conferences and sent home at the end of the year.
-
During the first week of school, we will learn and practice routines and procedures so that our classroom will run smoothly.
For example, in the morning. bring homework, books, assignment notebook, notes from
parents, etc. from your backpack into the classroom take attendance by making a lunch choice and moving
your stick put your homework and books away, keep out your
assignment notebook to check for parent signatures sharpen at least 2 pencils and make sure you have a
personal reading book use the restroom before the bell rings quietly get started on your seatwork
-
The students will vote on our classroom management system on the first day of school. We will either use an individual color card clip system or a team approach called Learnball. In Learnball, the class is placed into teams and we focus on positive behaviors. The teams earn points for working together and shooting baskets. I like Learnball because the attention is on the students who are working together and doing the right thing. I hope the students vote for Learnball!

During this time, I will individualize instruction to meet your childs learning needs.

In addition to our core math instruction time, we also have a guided math block. This time will be used to reteach or challenge students with concepts from the previous day. This time is used to individualize instruction to meet your students needs.
