Meanwhile, companies and universities joined forces

to conduct research programs.

Science Parks and clusters surfaced.

Nowadays, innovation is shifting outwards, especially to Tier 1 suppliers

Amazon, Nintendo or Apple, a.o., are major customers of the Taïwanese group Foxconn (Original design manufacturers)

Industrial companies outsource innovation to sub-system manufacturers.

Spirit is a Tier 1 supplier of Boeing, which develops and delivers the forward fuselage of the B 787

Innovation processes also migrate to business development

& partnerships with smaller players.

Example : Procter & Gamble

Innovation is not limited to technology or R&D.

The next step is to integrate innovation as a participative, open,

organisation, as well as with the outside world.

(enabled by online social platforms)

Within the organisation, innovation can become an inclusive project.

Brigade Combat Teams

modernisation "We are rapidly integrating this technology with the network to provide Soldiers down

to the platoon level with the kind of important battlefield situational awareness that is needed in such complex operating

environments as Afghanistan,"!

So, the articulation between Open innovation and Enterprise 2.0 can create a new business agility.
