OpenEdge Interface Setup

The OpenEdge software (free software) must be installed prior to setting up the interface in the POS

program. You may contact the provider for information on which processors are supported and for

help getting an account and setting up the software.

Once XCharge is installed and you are able to process credit cards directly through OpenEdge, follow

these steps to complete the integration in your POS.

In the POS register, choose Tools > Options > Register Settings. Select the Credit Card tab.

Below Interface, click the drop down arrow and select OpenEdge.

Click the button Launch X-Charge Setup. This will bring you to an X-Charge screen to complete the

setup.

X-Charge Integration Guide 1. Install Install X-Charge Locked Integration v7.1 Release 6 or higher on the computer

designated as the X-Charge Server computer. This is an XpressLink Secure DLL integration. The X-Charge Application is not needed on all computers. Instead, the corresponding XCClient.dll installation program must be installed on all systems processing payments. X-Charge prints the signature receipt and must be set up accordingly. A user must be set up with the following credentials in the X-Charge Server:

Username = POS Password = POSTALMATEX

The user must be allowed to perform the following functions in X-Charge Client Options: Credit Card – Purchase, Credit Card – Return, Credit Card- Void.

2. Set up PostalMate X-Charge integration.

a. Open the PostalMate PM Register. Select Tools, Options, Register Settings.

b. On the Credit Card tab select X-Charge from the drop-down box.

c. Select Launch X-Charge Setup to configure the X-Charge client. X-Charge prints the signature receipt and must be set up accordingly.

3. Process a test transaction.

a. Enter an item on the receipt and Select Total.

b. Select the appropriate tender type.

c. X-Charge opens for processing. Swipe credit card or enter information manually.

d. Transaction processes.

e. Transaction result displays.

f. Transaction completes.

4. Notes.

a. Integration method is XpressLink Secure (DLL)

b. Integration supports:

1) CC Purchase, Return, Void.

2) Partial Approval and Balance printing on receipt.

c. X-Charge prints the signature receipt and must be configured accordingly.

d. Screenshots of a Return.

Choose Return and enter the amount of return.

Choose an item or service to relate to this return transaction from The Tab panel on the right hand side of the register.

Upon a Partial Approval the result will be displayed notating the approved amount and additional funds required. Choose OK to continue.

You will be returned to the Register Total screen. Choose Tender Type to receive additional payments.
