Opposite Day

On opposite day, I wake up and go to sleep

for the rest of the night, when the sun shines bright

Then I go to school in my room

Not a single rule – don’t have to sweep my broom

And anyway – when it’s time to clean I spread germs on opposite day

On opposite day, children teach the

teachers how to be silly

And go swimming when it’s chilly

Then I watch commercials and skip the shows

I walk on my hands and eat with my toes

And then I play – with bills and forms and junk mail on opposite day!

On opposite day, my dog walks meInside my house

Where the cat has tea with the mouse

Then I watch the birds crawl on the ground

While the earthworms fly all around

What can I say – everything is so weirdOn opposite day!

On opposite day we walk on the ceilingand reach for the floor

To buy socks at the toy store

And I pay for the socks with my toys

Then at the library I make a lot of noise!

At the end of the day: Can’t wait for yesterday on opposite day!
