Zoomed in image of a wing, wallpaper collection.

TRANSCRIPT

To begin creating this wallpaper, i firstly drew a detailed image of a butterfly. I then took a segmant of the wing, and drew it full scale on an A4 piece of paper. I coloured it in using a normal colouring pencil, scanned the image into the computer, photoshopped the effects to create a richer and more vibrant look and then used vector works to create a repeat. The result being these wallpaper samples, i have experimented with different sizes, backgrounds, re-peats and colours to help me reach the decision for my final 6 designs. By experimenting with vector works and photoshop it has developed my knowl-edge within the two programmes and also helped me analyse the different wallpapers. For example: with this particular design i think the pattern looks best at a medium size and with a black background, it breaks up the pattern. As a wallpaper design it is important to not over stimulate, it needs to be easy on the eye and create a specific feel depending on the different room. I think that as a collection, these wallpapers are too bright/contrasting and would benefit from being a little paler or in pastel colours.
