Case 13ORTHODONTIC EXTRUSION OF

IMPACTED LEFT CENTRAL INCISOR

• A 9 years old female patient came to OPD of Pedodontics and

Preventive Dentistry, with

the chief complaint of retained milk teeth in upper

anterior region. • O/E – retained 61 and missing

21

OPG shows retained 61 and apically placed 21.

An odontome is present at incisal edge of 21

IOPAR shows retained 61, impacted 21 and

presence of odontome incisal to 21

Treatment plan:

• Surgical extraction of 51, and odontome• Followed by orthodontic

extrusion of 21

Incision given, periosteal flap elevated from 11 to

23.

61 extracted, bone overlying 21 was removed

to expose 21

Lingual button bonded to 21, with a wire extension

attached to it.

Suture given

MBT bracket system bonded on erupted teeth.

Extension of wire attached to 21 & tightened with arch wire.

21 erupted with mesially tilted crown.

MBT bracket bonded on 21 and .012 NiTi arch wire

adapted .

Proper alignment of 21 Bucally erupting 23

23 erupting bucally with space deficiency between 22 and 24.

Open coil spring given to regain space between 22

and 24.
