The Parent Team • The Role of the Coach• Set good example for players and fans

• Be positive, fair, and consistent with players

• Make playing time and strategy decisions with thought and care

• Establish and organize practice for the team on a daily basis

• Be a good communicator with players and parents

• Protect the safety of all athletes

• Make sure athlete know expectations, procedures, rules and requirements

• Make sure everyone has schedule of practice and games

• Be a fan of everyone on the team

• Respect the decision of officials

• Respect other fans, coaches and players

• Talk to your child if he/she has any questions, if still has questions contact the coach through proper procedures (talk to coach first, then Athletic Director, Principal, arrange for a meeting)

• Keep any negative thoughts about the coach, the program, or teammates to your self

• Don’t talk to coaches about concerns on game day

• Understand that coach’s responsibility is to make certain that students are safe and become better people and athletes, not to win every game.

• If they have any questions ask the coach

• Know and follow school and team rules

• Challenge themselves

• Notify the coach a head of time of any scheduling conflicts

• Talk to the coach about any concerns
