White Castle supports equal opportunity for all team members.
Management of White Castle supports diversity in the workplace (recognizing and respecting the value of human differences).
I feel comfortable voicing my ideas and opinions even when they are different than others.
Someone like me can succeed at White Castle.
White castle overall
us national norm1
We’re proud
to fulfill our mission
of creating memorable
moments every day for Cravers
from all walks of life, served by an
equally diverse team. Our team members
are mothers and granddaughters, husbands and
brothers, representing a rich variety of backgrounds,
speaking more than a dozen languages, and with lengths
of service spanning from just days to over 40 years.
For a unique brand like ours that inspires the likes of Harold &
Kumar, rocker Alice Cooper, comic legend Stan Lee, and the
renowned fashion designer Telfar, we’re proud to celebrate
what we’ve known all along: White Castle unites people.
In 2017, I was honored to lead the formation of our company’s
first Diversity & Inclusion Committee, and the development of
our company Diversity & Inclusion Statement. The committee
launched its activities around three goals designed to
strengthen diversity and inclusion at White Castle:
· First, we seek to further White Castle’s goal of being the
best place to work in our industry by actively attracting and
retaining a workforce that is representative of the broad
diversity of Craver generations everywhere.
· Next, we aim to ensure our industry and community
engagement activities support and reflect the
diversity of our workforce and customers.
· And finally, we want to effectively communicate, both
internally and externally, our diversity and inclusion policy
and strategies.
I’m delighted with the impact our Diversity & Inclusion
Committee has made in its first year. We’ve surveyed our
team about their thoughts on diversity, coordinated several
events to raise awareness, begun the process of developing
and implementing diversity standards for our supplier partners,
and promoted team member involvement by seeking user
generated content for our logo contest and video production,
all of which are showcased in this inaugural annual report.
As warmly as our 10,000+ team members have
embraced the bold moves led by our Diversity &
Inclusion Committee this year, I’m inspired to
think what we can accomplish together
in 2018 and beyond.

As a startup effort in 2017, our Diversity & Inclusion Committee quickly created a sense
of excitement and awareness about our effort by launching a system wide logo contest. While entries
came from all divisions of our company, the winning design selected by the Diversity & Inclusion Committee was submitted by
Dana Browning in our Home Office Corporate Relations Department.

White Castle implemented in
2017 an Annual Compensation
Study focused on ensuring
our compensation policies and
procedures result in fair and
equitable pay for our team
members. Our inaugural study
evaluated General Managers’
current rates of pay against
gender, age, race/ethnicity
and tenure in position, and
revealed that there was no
significant negative correlation.
We will continue the annual
study with other positions in
the company in 2018.

While it’s long been a practice
of sourcing talent from the
communities where our
facilities exist, in Fall 2017
White Castle’s Construction

with a Construction Diverse
