service for Alumnae. It’s a rare opportunity to go back to your initiation day and re-discover the meaning of Kappa. When was the last time you sang “I Love You Truly” or “Oh, Pat”? How long has it been since you’ve worn that little golden key? I encour-age you to renew your jour-ney with Kappa by becom-ing a member of our Alum-nae Association. Celebrate the beautiful and the good within you. Join women who Kappa.

Members of the Clearwater Bay Alumnae Association embrace the ideals of Kap-pa Kappa Gamma: friend-ship and mutual support for a member’s lifetime. While the beginning of our life with Kappa is uniquely ours, we share the bonds of sister-hood as our journey contin-ues, constantly guided by Kappa to all that is beautiful and good. We come from
more than twenty-five chap-ters. We are members of the Greatest Generation, we are Baby-Boomers, Gen-eration X and Millennials. We are women who Kappa. It’s an exciting year ahead as we move towards our 60th anniversary. You will find events connecting us to our Kappa sisters across Tampa Bay and find time to engage with our PanHellenic sisters and with our commu-nity. Founders Day is al-ways special and we’ll spend an afternoon with the Tampa Bay and St. Pete Kappas as we remember when six young women walked into chapel wearing their golden keys. Do not miss our 60th Anniversary Luncheon on January 09! We will honor our past pres-idents and hold a special

On Saturday, November 21, many KKG alumnae from the University of Florida will be participating again in the National Lung Cancer Part-nership’s Free to Breathe Walk in honor of their Epsilon Phi sister Ali Pickard. Ali was a healthy, vibrant, non- smoking 37 year old when she was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer in 2010. Ali, who was always full of life, died at the age of 40. In her last year of life, Ali rallied her Kappa sisters to support Free to Breathe in
any way possible.
To preserve Ali’s legacy, Sherri McKee Reyes, Treasur-er of CBAA, together with a
few of her ΕΦ sisters from UF, formed Team Ali Strong. Sherri is the Event Chair for the 2nd Annual Free to Breathe 5k Event in Tampa on November 21, 2015 at Al Lopez Park. Please mark your calendars and please join this special team of sis-
terhood - Team Ali Strong.
The Free to Breathe event series is the nation’s largest branded lung cancer aware- ness series, including 41 events and a National Walk. The purpose of the events is to unite people in communi-ties across the nation that are passionate about creat-ing public awareness of lung cancer and raising vital fund-
ing to support research.
Visit www.freetobreathe.org/ tampa to contribute to or to join Sherri’s team. You are also welcome to form your own team. Regardless, it will be wonderful to come to-gether to honor the lives we have lost to lung cancer, and celebrate the lives that have
been saved.
If you would like to read more about Ali and how in-spiring she was, please read Living Inspired, Living Strong, Living Kappa in the 2012
spring edition of The Key.

Rose McGill Holiday Sharing

Each year Clearwater Bay participates in the Rose McGill Holiday Sharing Program. The Holiday Program of the Kap-pa Kappa Gamma Foundation is a support system for current Rose McGill Confidential Aid recipients. The holidays can be especially difficult during times of financial hardship and our participation in this program helps to brighten the holidays of our Kappas sisters in need. It’s humbling to know that our recent recipient requested items that most of us would take for granted: a blouse, slacks, a sweater, pajamas and towels. Her only wish for a special treat was a small piece of jewelry. Thank you for contributing to our Association. It is your gener-osity that allows us to renew the meaning of sisterhood with our Holiday Sharing Kappa.
“Our hearts it revealing in so many ways.”

Protect Your Badge!
Members of The Golden Key Alumnae Association are dedicated to “...assuring our badges remain symbols of membership in our great Fraternity rather than simply pieces of jewelry or collectors’ items.” The Association works to ensure that the badges stay with members of the Kappa family.
You can help their efforts too, by making a provision for the safekeeping of your
badge. Often times, members or their families do not realize that the key-shaped
pin is an emblem of membership and, without prearrangements, that badge can fall
into the possession of a non-member.
Because of the efforts of the Golden Key Alumnae Association, a new option was added to the Badge Disposition Form. You
may now return your badge to the Fraternity with the stipulation that it be held for any future legacies.
