University of Pittsburg Medical CenterProblem: The University of Pittsburg Medical Center was using UVC lights toeliminate pathogens. Since the UVC process is only e�ective when the UVClight shines on the pathogen, the UV was missing the microorganisms at thecellular level. The UVC lights must be replaced annually which is anadditional maintenance costs.

Solution: The O2Prime™ Solution with bi-polar ionizationwith 316 stainless steel needles and carbon fibersbrushes that are continuously scrubbing the airstream was the solution of choice. ION generatingunits (IGU) were installed. To verify the project,environmental culturing was performed andcompared the pre and post project installation.
