Welcome and Announcements
Prayer Prelude “Give Me Jesus” Mark Hayes *Call to Worship
Awaken to a season of anticipation. God is offering peace within and among us.
How good is it to gather in God’s house! God draws us together for this time of worship.
God calls us to celebrate our diversity. Differences shall no longer divide us.
We want to see one another through God’s eyes. We will look for the good in our neighbors.
Seek the highest and best for each other. Come to the mountain of God’s love.
We will follow in the paths that God leads. Our ears are open to hear God’s instructions.
*Hymn #135 “Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus”
Call to Confession
Prayer of Confession God of forgiveness and mercy, hear our prayer as we confess our sin. With moments so critical, we let time go by. With deliverance so near, we linger in the darkness. With Christ as our armor, we yet fear the unknown foe. With the night having passed, we still hesitate to greet the new day. O God, lead us forth, that we may meet the moment you graciously give us. Dispel the shadows, so that your will may be clear. Clothed with light and new life in Christ, let us go forth as those awake to your will. Amen.

God of light, shine in our hearts and renew our resolve.
Advent is a time of joyful expectation.
God of light, shine in our hearts and renew our faith.
Advent is a time of service and searching.
God of light, shine in our hearts and renew our faith.

Pastoral Prayer and the Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
Call to Offering
Offertory “Pastorale” Giuseppe Sammartini
Doxology
Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye Heavenly Host;
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.
Prayer of Dedication
Thank you, God, for the privilege of sharing your bounty with
those in need. Thank you for prospering our work and witness.
We seek to walk in your light and follow the pathways where you
lead. We want to share the good news of salvation through these
gifts and by the way we live. May all your people be made ready
for Christ’s coming. Amen.
*Hymn #157 “Good Christian Friends, Rejoice” *Benediction Postlude “No. II” Joseph Rheinberger *All who are able, please stand. The bulletins for Sunday, December 1st were sponsored in loving memory of Bobby Miller by Rick and Kay Kleppinger. …Things of Interest to Our Palm Schwenkfelder Family…
This week, please keep in your daily prayers:
The family of Laverne “Ernie” Weller, Jeff Treichler, the family of Alberta
Rothenberger, Abby Tomlin, Alaina DeMenno, Barb Master, Robin Hepler,
Richard Leh, Paul Boyer, Darlene Jones, David Singley, Tom Dunn, Evelyn and
Jack Bold. Please also keep in your prayers the men and women serving in the
United States Military. This month from our Schwenkfelder Prayer List we uplift
the Men of Palm.
The Deacons ask that you please check the Prayer List and let us know if there are any persons who no longer need to be on it. Also, if you know of someone who needs our prayers, you can submit their name to Dan Ferry in the church office by phone (215-679-5321) or by e-mail (palmadministrator@comcast.net). Remember, in order to respect people's privacy, please be sure you have their permission before submitting their names for the prayer list.
December Youth Birthdays
Happy Birthday to…
Andrew Colvin (12/21), Faith Ann Linsinbigler (12/27), Jonas Kinsler (12/30)
Children’s Church
This is offered for children aged Toddlers thru 4th Grade. Visitors are welcome to
join us. After the children’s sermon, children may go to the 1st & 2nd Grade
Classroom for a Bible story, activity, and snack. An adult leader and youth
helper will lead children’s church. The bulletin will say who the leader is or if
there is no Children’s Church for that particular Sunday. Notify the adult leader
if your child has food allergies or other restrictions. After worship parents can
pick up their children upstairs at the 1st & 2nd Grade Classroom.
Pancake Breakfast Committee
If you would like to join the breakfast committee, please sign up in the narthex.
We could really use your help to grow this breakfast as a community outreach, as
well as help our church by being able to donate back to the church to help with
needed funds.
Holiday Bazaar Youth Table
Thank you to everyone who stopped by the youth table to purchase a bag of
chocolate covered pretzels. We hope that you enjoyed them!
Military Care Packages
There is still a sign-up sheet to add names of individuals that you know who are
serving in our military. Please let us know if there is anyone that we can send an
encouraging note to.
6
College Care Packages
We are ready to accept donations for the College Care Packages. You may make a
monetary donation and we will shop for you. Or, you may bring in items which
will be divided among the students. Some examples of items that you can donate
would be: snacks, office supplies, first aid supplies, toiletries, and small trinkets.
Lights in the Parkway
On Friday, December 20th travel along a spectacular Christmas light display at
the Parkway in Allentown. This is open for Youth of all ages. Meet at the church
at 6:00pm. Sign-up is required due to coordinating transportation. After the
light display, join us at the home of Kevin and Barb for a hot chocolate social.
Parents are welcome to join.
Adopt-a-Family
This is the last Sunday to sign up to help purchase Christmas gifts for an Open
Link family of 4 children. You may sign up in the narthex. All gifts are due back
today. There are 4 clip boards, one for each child. Write your name and phone
number next to the gift that you would like to purchase, take the tag, purchase the
gift, and return the gift unwrapped and with the tag taped to the gift. Please see
Barb Master with any questions. Thank you.
Sunday School Christmas Program
The Youth will present their Christmas program on Sunday, December 22nd
during the worship service. Please join us for refreshments after worship in the
Adult Sunday School Classroom. If you are able to help provide refreshments,
please drop them off in the room before worship. Thank you.
Rehearsal Schedule for Sunday School Christmas Program
Sunday, December 8th, 15th, and 22nd – during Sunday School
Saturday, December 21st – 9:30am to 11:30am.
Palm Country Day School
We still have openings in our 2–day, 3–day and pre–K. If you are interested or
know somebody interested please have them call us for more information. Did
you know that you can order books from Scholastic to support our preschool?
There are catalogues available in our front hallway. If you order through
Scholastic using our code VXKHW, PCDS gets points to use on the purchase of
books and other supplies for the classroom. We are working to earn enough
points to buy the classroom a drying rack so please consider buying from
Scholastic. Orders are due by this Tuesday, December 10th. We would like to
welcome you to take a look at all the art work in the classroom and in the hall.
The children have been working very hard.

Raise the Roof Capital Campaign
It has come to the attention of the Board of Trustees that the roof on the
Christian Education building is in need of replacement. Contractors have
surveyed the roof and have determined that a new roof will be needed within the
next 2 to 3 years. In order to raise the funds needed for this project, the Board
has decided to run a capital campaign entitled “Raise the Roof.” The campaign
will begin immediately and run through December 31, 2021 or until the
determined amount of $100,000 is reached. Please prayerfully consider helping
us protect and maintain our facility by donating to this very important campaign.
A progress chart will be posted in the narthex along with update reports in the
bulletin and newsletter. Thank you for your support,
Board of Trustees
Men of Palm
The meeting of the Men of Palm has been rescheduled and will be held on
Sunday, January 19, 2020 immediately following the worship service, in the

contemporary Christmas music at 2:30 p.m. and at 7:00 p.m. at the Central
Schwenkfelder Church, located at 2111 Valley Forge Road (Route 363), Lansdale,

Ladies’ Aid Epiphany Party
We’re trying something new! For those who are unable to attend the week-day

plan for the coming year. Date change: Ladies’ Aid Epiphany Party and luncheon
will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 12:00 noon. Please bring a covered
dish to share. We will be collecting monetary donations for Open Link. The
monthly Ladies’ Aid business meeting will follow the lunch at 1:00PM.
Altar Flowers and Bulletins
All flower and bulletin sponsorships for the remainder of the year have been
taken. Thank You! The new 2020 charts are in the hallway outside of the office,
and for this year the Deacons are once again giving people the option of
sponsoring one arrangement or both arrangements. The cost of one arrangement
will remain $25, and the cost of sponsoring both arrangements will remain at
$50. If you would like to sponsor one arrangement, you need only sign up on one
chart, but if you’d like to sponsor both arrangements, you will need to sign up on
both charts for that particular Sunday. Or if you choose, you may sponsor one
arrangement on one Sunday, and sponsor a separate arrangement on a
completely different Sunday. If you have any questions, please speak to one of
our Deacons. Thanks!
