HANAAppliance
“Run Simple” with SAP….
Yes it can be done ☺
* Still requires AS Java for Adobe Document Services, NW SSO 2.0 and Web Dispatcher runtimes. A server is required but application footprint drastically reduced and no business content

How we do UX and
PanAust
• Local work force has English as second language
• We don’t want to continually maintaining learning content
• Our UI development cycles need to be short and quick to achieve velocity
• Performance of the UI must be good in the locations we operate
• Employees demand easy to use interfaces at all levels
• Infrequent users must relearn navigation steps every time which is a reduction in productivity.. Must be easy
Voice of the
customer
“I want it to be
easy, cheap,
fast and built
yesterday!!!”
Not all users are created equally..
PanAust grouped different user perspectives to achieve a more pragmatic solution but still with high usability:
Things you do as an Employee/Manager and things you do as part of your job.
• Professional Desktop Access (Generally complex tasks and with high frequency)
• Self Service Access (Simple tasks performed by large number of users)
• Mobile Access (Simple and Complex tasks frequently performed but the user is not working from a desk.)

ECHOS School of design thinking
Its hard to believe..
“We usually design things that no one wants”
What went wrong?
it was such a great idea
• One of the first ones we built• Did not involve correct users in design of UX• App needed to be online had various issues with connectivity in key areas• Involved the correct users too late in the process resulted in several
changes• Delayed release • Got there in the end with good result
Massive learnings for the next one!
Paperless

Remember that People
• Do not always think what they say
• Do not always say what they want
• Do not always know what they do
• Do not always do what we expect
ECHOS School of design thinking
Engage with the right users and build together!
Use a design thinking approach
What we did differently
What happened?
App goes Viral!
