The Need for Paper Recycling
* The increase in per capita consumption averaged 1.8% per year from 1960 to 1980, 1.6% per year from 1980 to 1993, and has been projected at 0.6% per year during 1990 to 2040.
* Pulp, paper, and paperboard mills account for 95% of energy use in the
U.S. paper and allied products industry and about 12% of total manufacturing
energy use in the U.S.
Science of Paper Recycling
• 50% of paper in U.S. has been already recycled.
• One bundle of paper as huge as a person can save 15 trees.
Collect papers.
Sort them out and make them into bundles.
These bundles get dissolved into new papers.

• The use of paper in Korea has been steadily increasing.
• Korea produces 69.6% of the total paer usage in Korea, so it has to rely on import for the rest.
• 4,090 billion won is used for paying imported paper every year.
20% of the whole trash in Korea is paper.
