Pour nous, le moindre petit détail a son importance, depuisle choix des matériaux et des motifs jusqu’au tissage et auxtravaux de finition. Tout ce que nous faisons, nous le faisonsmanuellement. Les tapis Pappelina sont issus de l’artisanat suédois, du début à la fin de leur fabrication; ils sont le produit d’une alliance étroite entre recherche du design et travail du tissage. Si nous sommes perfectionnistes et haut en couleur, notre ambition va au-delà: transmettre par nos produits une joiedurable et renouvelée! Nous sommes passionnés par notretravail – et espérons que vous partagerez cette passion.

IT ALL BEGAN 15 YEARS AGO

I can still recall the feeling I had when I first found a stock of plastic ribbons from the 60’s at a small weavery here in Dalarna. I had just begun weaving my linen rugs and was looking for my own form of expression, one that combined high-quality craftsmanship with modern design and functionality. Suddenly, with those ribbons, a whole new world opened up to me!

Along with the craftmen of the weavery, I began experi- menting with the ribbons, developing new colours, techniques, patterns – elevating the classic plastic rug of Sweden to a whole new level. Twice as thick and with bold-coloured patterns, the Pappelina rug began to take the world by storm. And that’s how we are where we are today. Pappelina is growing, yet at our core remains small-scale local Dalarna craftsmanship. It is only our market that has grown to be global.

TOUT A COMMENCÉ IL Y A 15 ANS

Je me souviens encore de l’émotion ressentie en découvrant un stock de rubans de plastique des années 60. Je me trouvais dans le petit atelier de tissage de Dalécarlie où je commençai tout juste de tisser mes tapis de lin. J’étais à la recherche d’un mode d’expression qui me serait propre et qui combinerait l’artisanat de qualité, le design moderne et la fonctionnalité.

En collaboration avec les artisans de l’atelier, je me suis mise à faire des expériences avec ces rubans de plastique, autour de coloris, de techniques et de motifs nouveaux. Il s’agissait de réinventer ce classique suédois qu’est le tapis de plastique, et de l’améliorer de façon inédite. Avec leur double épaisseur et leurs grands motifs de couleur vive, les tapis Pappelina ont pris d’assaut la Suède. Nous avons fait bien du chemin depuis nos débuts. Pappelina ne cesse de croitre, mais son cœur de métier reste ancré dans l’artisanat local de Dalécarlie. Au fil des années notre marché s’est ouvert et s’est aussi établi à l’international.

smart, black rubber logo tag. The rugs are uniquely woven using an exceptional number of warp threads giving them a substantial and exclusive look. These ranges have been created from our desire to offer a sturdy and timeless rug that will grace your home for years to come.

85 centimètres est la largeur de nos nouveaux modèles de tapis MONO et DUO, deux tapis avec des dessins classiques. MONO et DUO ont un bordure décorative tissée, avec un ourlet et une étiquette en

caoutchouc. Dans ces tapis, nous avons utilisé plus de fil de chanvre ce qui les rend encore stables, mais aussi aussi exclusifs. Ils ont étés imaginés avec la volonté de proposer un tapis, encore plus élaboré et intemporel. Les dessins des tapis HONEY et MARRE sont si populaires qu’ils vont décorer maintenant nos coussins. La collection de coussins va d’ailleurs s’elargir en proposant de nouvelles coulerus: lime, warm grey et rouge corail. Quant à nos plaids, subtil melange de coton et de laine, ils sont mainteant proposés avec les dessins bien-aimés MARRE, LISA et HONEY. Notre gamme s’ettoffe de jour en jour pour que chacun y trouve son bonheur.
