Directory Tips and Tricks Keep our Membership Directory Handy!
You’ll be surprised how easy it is to locate membership info when our directory is just a click away.
Save this file to a convenient folder on your computer. For ease of retrieval, “Save In” My Documents or place the file on your Windows or Mac desktop. If you save the directory to a folder, create a shortcut to the directory file and place it on your Windows or Mac desktop.
To find a specific member name or institution listing in a hurry, use the Find box in the Adobe Acrobat toolbar. Type in a few letters of the member’s last name or a distinctive part of the institution name, then click “Find.”
Or, display the Adobe Reader Bookmarks window (Window Menu | Bookmarks, or click the Bookmarks tab). Click either Member Directory or Institution Directory to browse alphabetically.
Send a Quick Email or Visit a Website
All email addresses and websites in the directory are hyperlinked. When you need to send an email to a member, click once on the member’s email address. This will bring up a new, ready-to-send, pre-addressed email using your default email program. Do the same to go to a member’s library or institution website. All links will open the appropriate page in your preferred browser.
Copy and Paste from Acrobat to Other Programs
Adobe Reader is equipped with a Select Tool to help you copy and paste information to other programs. Click the Select Tool button (look for the arrow) on Acrobat Reader’s toolbar, highlight an address or phone number, right-click and choose Copy, then switch to another program and choose Paste.
Print Individual Pages
Navigate to the page you wish to print. Choose Print from Acrobat’s File menu, check the radio button for “Current Page,” and click the OK button.

Membership Categories Regular
Regular membership is open to individuals interested in or actively engaged in library or other information services in the health care field and its related disciplines. Annual dues are $25. For 2013/14, members who are currently between jobs do not pay dues. Student
Individuals currently enrolled in library and information science programs at the community college, college, university or graduate levels may apply for student membership in NCNMLG. Students do not pay dues. Honorary
Honorary membership is awarded for life to noteworthy individuals. Previous membership in the Chapter is not required. Names of candidates known for their contributions to library or other information service or to the Chapter shall be submitted to the Executive Board for consideration and tentative approval; the President shall then present the names of those approved to the general membership at the annual business meeting for final consideration and approval. Honorary members do not pay dues. Emeritus/Emerita
Emeritus/Emerita membership is granted for life to those persons who have retired from library service, have had 10 years or more of consecutive membership in the Chapter, who are members at the time of their retirement from library service or related activity, and who have applied for such membership. Emeritus/Emerita members do not pay dues.
Application for Emeritus/Emerita membership: An NCNMLG member who has belonged to the Chapter for at least 10 years at time of retirement may apply for emeritus/emerita status by noting their request on the first Membership Renewal form received following retirement. After receipt of the Renewal form and confirmation of membership information by the Membership Committee, the member will be notified by the Chair of the Awards and Honors Committee that this status has been granted. A copy of the award letter to hospital librarian applicants will be sent on their behalf to the Hospital Library Section of the Medical Library Association (MLA), unless otherwise requested. A copy is also sent to the MLA Membership Chair, who puts this information in the Membership Database. Changes or Corrections to Membership Record
