Introduction
Party Animals is an initiative of the AWLQ’s Education Division, offering parents the opportunity to utilize the AWLQ’s facilities to host their child’s birthday party. Party Animals was developed as a revenue stream for the Education Division and all profits from the program go directly towards supporting the work of the AWLQ’s Education Division.
Our Party Animals Package offers hands-on animal presentations, a behind-the-scenes tour of our shelter, animal-themed craft activities, use of our indoor and outdoor facilities and access to themed party invitation designs and AWLQ ‘take-home’ party bags for all guests.
Package Details An animal-themed craft activity is made available while guests arrive. The party group is then led
around on a guided tour of the animal shelter. AWLQ’s ‘Party Instructor’ introduces the group to some
of our Education animals and the children enjoy a dog training and tricks demonstration. The group is
then taken into the cat rehoming pens for some cat/kitten cuddling then they help to feed our small
animals. The remaining time is set aside for cake, presents and games.

Sample Party Schedule
Below is an example of the running schedule for an 8 year-old's party. All schedules will look different depending on the activities and package chosen by the birthday child, however it does give a good idea of how our staff run the event.
A copy of the schedule is given to each of the organizing parents/guardians on arrival, so all involved understand the running order.

Leroy Brown is a 10 year-old ‘Labradoodle’. He is gentle of nature and oh-so well behaved! He can do tricks and can even dance a little! He is a big dog, so even though he may seem large for the very little children he is just a gentle teddy bear

Rusty is a very cute and cuddly ‘Cavoodle’ (King Charles Cavalier x Poodle. Rusty is a particularly excellent choice for a young child’s party as he is petite and sweet.
