LUCAS 2 DeviceRequested Amount: $14,495

Presented by: Gayle CokerIntegris Canadian Valley Pulmonary Department

LUCAS 2

• In the event of a cardiac arrest, every second is crucial.• Chest compressions are needed to provide blood flow to the

brain• Cardiac arrest means that there is no blood circulation and no

delivery of oxygen• The brain starts to deteriorate after only a few minutes

without oxygen, and after ten minutes severe brain damage is likely to have already occurred

• To minimize this it is important to maintain compressions that are effective and uninterrupted

What LUCAS 2 Will Mean For Our Patients

• The LUCAS 2 will allow our providers to offer the highest quality CPR to cardiac arrest patients. This is one of the most important factors in having a favorable outcome in cardiac arrest patients

• The LUCAS 2 device will allow members of the code team to attend to the patients other critical needs knowing that compressions are being taken care of by LUCAS without fail
