students– More than 500 online courses– 8-week accelerated online

format– Enterprise model– Dept. of Learning Design:

5 IDs + 4 Web Developers +1 Multimedia Specialist

Why was the “Passport” created?• Helps alleviate faculty

resistance.• Improves course

development efficiency.

• Becomes an exemplar for future courses.

What is a “Passport”?• A resource, not a formal

training course.• An exemplar for using

graphics, audio, multimedia and technology – even an AVATAR!

• Passport, as the theme, represents various destinations in the course development journey.

What was the design process?• Audience analysis • Stakeholder

involvement• Faculty buy-in• Collaborative design

process• Promotion

How is it being used?• Faculty explore the site

before the kickoff meeting.• Faculty revisit the site for

additional information while working with IDs.

• Site is used as exemplar during brainstorm sessions.

• Site is in LMS to provide experience with the tool before online courses are developed.
