PennERA - Profiles Profile Updates Quick Reference Guide Interest Areas: Profile Data for Proposal Submission

Overview

All PennERA users have a profile with address and contact information that is initially setup from their PennCommunity information. Information in the PennERA profile will automatically populate all proposal records.

Access Your Profile

• Login to PennERA.   • Click “My Profile”. • Select “Edit”

Access Another User’s Profile

If you have profile edit authority, you can edit any profile within your group. • Login to PennERA.   • Click “Administration”. • Select “Personnel Administration”. • Select “Investigator Administration” in the next screen. • Select the name of the person whose profile will be edited

from the alpha list.

Editing the Profile

• Select the topic. o If you are editing your profile, the list of topics is on the right

side of the screen. o If you are editing another person’s profile, the list is on the

left side. • Edit information on the selected screen. • Save each screen before navigating to another section.

Once the profile is editable, the following instructions are used for editing your own profile or another person’s.

Editing Individual Topics

General Information

The “General” screen is the initial screen viewed. Complete required (see below) and other general information (Title, FAX #).

Required elements for Key Personnel in system-to-system applications:

• Address information o 9-digit ZIP code required for US addresses.

• E-mail address • Phone number

Sponsor Credentials

Some sponsors (NIH, NSF, DOD-CDMRP) require a Sponsor Credential for Key Personnel.

• Select the link to Sponsor Credentials section. • Click “Add New”.

• Enter the unique Credential identity. • Select the Credential Type. • Save.

Education

NSF (FastLane) requires information about an investigator’s highest degree and year it was awarded. This information is not required in submissions to most other agencies but can be entered if desired.

• Select the link to ‘Education” from list on the left. • Click “Add New”. • Complete fields in the “Education Detail” popup window. • Click “Save and Return” to return to “Education” main screen. • Select Radio button “Report to Grants.gov” to display in

applications.
