Perfect Pints How Gas Affects the Ideal Beverage Experience

Not THAT Type of Gas! We’re not talking about the

flatulence experienced after a few pints

The quality of the beer gas used in the storage and pulling of a pint really does affect the quality of the resulting pint

The Perfect Combo

NNitrogen

CO2Carbon Dioxide

The illusive perfect beer needn’t be so illusiveWith proper carbonation and a reduced risk of

overflowingand brewed with the correct amount of CO2 gas to provide the perfect balance of flavour and carbonation,

Get ready to pour that wonderful pint

If the pressure is too high, the beer will pour out of the tap too fast, resulting in excessive amounts of gas molecules entering the beer solution

If the pressure is too low, the beer will pour out too slow, giving it a flat appearance and taste.

Beer is brewed and then transported in a keg which is under pressure.

This pressure ensures the precise level of CO2 remains in the beer to carbonate it. If the pressure is too

high, the beer will pour out too quickly resulting in too many gas molecules entering the beer.

Under Pressure

Keepin’ CoolMaintaining the proper temperature is essential when pouring a perfect beer.

Beer needs to be stored in a keg cooler that is set to between 2.7 and 3.3 degrees Celsius. If beer is stored

below 2.7 degrees Celsius, it will seem flat.

If beer is stored above 3.3 degrees Celsius, it will overflow when poured.

Hold It!Hold the glass at a 45 degree angle.

NEVER let the spout to touch beer or glass!

make that a clean, tulip glass for the purest possible pint

Pour Perfect!Gently pour the beer so that it pools hits the centre of your tilted glass, and runs into the base.

Too much air leads to the loss of control over the pint – and huge head!

Whoa, Steady!Let the pint settle.

The nitrogen bubbles will begin to dance around the glass, creating the an amazing head with a top class taste

...and, Enjoy!Drink through the head.

Pushing your elbow outward, keep your forearm straight and look to the horizon as you drink!
