More food, fresh water and warm shelter

Make sure your pet’s dish has fresh water to drink. If you keep

your pet outdoors, check frequently if the water has frozen, and

refill it with fresh water.

Also your pet would need more food because it takes more

energy in winter to keep your pet’s body temperature regulated.

You could consider getting your dog a coat or a sweater. Help

him to dry off completely after a bath before stepping outside.

Watch out for your furry friends

A lot of small animals crawl under parked

cars as it is warm near the car engine.

Check for animals below your car and shoo

them.

If you take your dog for a walk, don’t let

him off the leash on snow or ice.

Never leave your pet alone in the car during

cold weather.

Exercising and health care

Regular exercise is very important

especially when your pet is not very

active during the winter months.

Exercising and frequent walks will help

your pet to keep warm.
