What is poetry?Poetry is, first of all, a
communication -a thought or message conveyed bythe writer to the reader. It is not only an act of creation, butalso an act of sharing.
Stanza / Verse
A section of poetry separated from the sections before and after it; a verse “paragraph.”

Rhyme• Rhyme is a pattern of words that contain
similar sounds.

Theme
The central idea of a work.
The theme is the general idea or insight about life that a writer wishes to express. All of the elements of literary terms contribute to theme. A simple theme can often be stated in a single sentence.
