Design Concept
The new research center was inspired by the
Rustic outdoors of the coastal south. Incorporated
into the design was a lot of glass for the ocean, tan
colors for the sand and wood for the driftwood
and picket fences by the beaches.
Architectural and Furnishing Finishes
Exposed beams were used to create the rustic
look and bring the outdoors in. Plants on the walls
as well as plant dividers used in the office space
were used in the same manner. A fish tank was
incorporated into the reception area to bring a bit
of the coastal south oceans into the building.
