PROJECT INTRODUCTION
The site was farmland in County Shaoxing. With the development of rea l estate and commerce in surrounding area, it needs to be transformed into a recreation park for the residents nearby. However, the site is in poor condition currently because of eutrophication pollution, textile industry waste and household garbage. The plan is intended to solve these three problems. More importantly, in order to solve the problems in the long run, the plan helps inspire environmental-protection awareness of the public and inspire them to think about the situation of the next generation.

Light Bar Corridor: Part of the trails in the park has Light Bar corridor while the rest do not. Trails with corridor blocks visitors' view while trail without corridor releases visitors' view. The pleasure of appreciating nature freely is enlarged. Light bars could function as lighting in night.
Relativity Architecture: It is an architecture group in the 3 part of the site. it combines the "restrain" and "release" space.
Relativity Structure
The structure tends to release and restrain people's activity of enjoying nature. The joy could be enlarged through relativity. In the mean while, the space of "restrain" metaphors the future situation. The site has been achieving economic development at the cost of environment. In the future, the environment could be destroyed and people's activity of enjoying nature could be restrained. The structure is designed to remind people to think about the situation of the next generation.

The site was farmland before exploitation of real estate. The farm tends to present the site history and traditional spirit (diligence, simplicity).
The formation of farm consists of three elements (road, water, field) to present the geographical feature in the area---waterway interwines with each other and extends to everywhere.

CURRENT CONDITION OF CEMETERY ANALYSISPROJECT INTRODUCTIONThe site is in Mount Tuo, Rui’an, Zhejiang Province, China. It has been a burial site for the sourrounding villages and city Rui’an for decades. However, overuse of concrete in cemeteries has resulted in severe environmental pollution. What's more, it would encounter burial land shortage under current development in the near future. The design is to invent a new type of cemeteries which is environmental friendly and could cope with future death population. A part of Mount Tuo would be used as test bed for the new cemetery.
20
Construct terrace in utilization of site topography in order to minimize impact on environment STRATEGY
Decrease tomb size to cope with burial land shortage
Explore a dignified way to MOURN AS A WHOLE (mourn the dead with the whole cemetery instead of individual tombs)
"Hide" tombs - place tomb bricks on the edge of terrace
Design cemetery for the alive - build up comforting phenomenon to ease the pain

The site is in Town Longgang, a promising town near River Ao. It abandoned its feature of landscape and architecture during rapid urbanization, which has resulted in informal urban growth and social problems. However, the local people are so desperate for development that they are indifferent to the cultural dilemma. The plan is intended to restore the traditional and cultural phenomenon of the site and help people rediscover the beauty of traditional landscape and architecture.

Rocks in the garden represents features of mountains.
Wood logs cons ist of the structure of architectures. Therefore there is a lot of semi-space and open-space in architectures. Landscape could penetrate into architecture.
One of the main characters of Chinese ink painting is placing great emphasis on lines. The classic architectures especially the shapes of roofs expresses the beauty of lines.
M e a n d e r wate r r o u t i n e i n t h e garden represents winding rivers and organizes various types of space.
Different types of architectures are especia l ly designed for landscape appreciation, such as pavil l ion and corridors
One of the main characters of Chinese ink painting is placing great emphasis on lines. Plants like pines and willows in the garden expresses the beauty of lines.
Plants symbolize t h e c h a r a c t e r and ambit ion of ga rd e n o w n e rs . For example, Lotus could symbolize the character of purity.
Ornamental perforated windows and doors were used in the garden. Sceneries outside the windows and doors were carefully designed.
The Master-Of-Nets Garden The Master-Of-Nets Garden is one of the four famous gardens in Suzhou, China. It is the exemplification of Chinese classic gardens and expresses three main features of Chinese classic gardens.

A number of sustainabi l i ty-oriented facilities already exist in this location, including the Student Farm, the Experimental College Gardens, and the Domes res ident ia l community. We attempt to make a master plan proposal for a sustainable living and learning community in this location, knitting these multiple facilities and opportunity sites together into a unified district to make this portion of campus functional and sustainable.

California has extremely uneven distribution of precipitation. It mainly concentrates in spring and winter and lacks rainfall in summer and autumn.
Since 2013, continuous drought affected California that rainfall reached its lowest level in the past 153 years.
California is at a high level of temperature among all the states. Light and heat resources are adequate, especially in summer.
A great deal of electricity is used by UC Davis. Apartment buildings are the largest consumers of electricity, which reach an unsustainable level.
Each component of the site is seperate and discrete. Our plan is to make a connection between the residential area and the agricultural area so that they could share and distribute food, energy and waste recycling to establish an efficient and sustainable system.

The Domes is an intentional community on the UC Davis campus consisting of 14 fiberglass dome houses constructed in the 1970s as a student project to research sustainable community. However the future for it is uncertain. Our plan improves Domes into community which use resource more eff i c ient ly and sustainably.

The design aims to create a sustainable process, which connects the farmland and apartments. The grey water recycling could improve the efficiency of water utilization while the use of solar energy could supplement other energy consumption and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The farmland is a kind of productive landscape that blends aesthetics and function. People’s involvement and carefully selection of the edibles in the farmland would lower the maintenance to some extent. In the process, grey water is recycled for irrigation, the farm production is for human consumption, which make up of the sustainable landscape.
