PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC CONTROLLER (PLC)CERTIFICATE
PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC CONTROLLER (PLC)The Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) program will provide knowledge and extensive hands-on experiences to prepare the student for industry employment. This program teaches the students the Industrial PLC from the ground up. Students will be trained in industry safety, completing the requirements to obtain the OSHA 10 Certificate. Students are trained in industrial electricity including basic electrical circuits, electrical measurements, electrical relay logic, industrial and residential wiring. The program will have in-depth instruction on electrical motor controls, interpretation of schematics, diagnostic troubleshooting, electronic sensing devices and ladder logic timers. Students will be given the basic knowledge of automated manufacturing power transmission and conveyance devices. Training will include belt drives, bearing types, and precision shaft alignment.
Topics covered in PLC I will include PLC operation, applications, configuration, programming examples, and troubleshooting. PLC II takes the students through advanced training in PLCs as they are used in industry to manage multiple automated processes. The PLC II course will provide a working knowledge of current industry applications.
