Presentation Notes
In addition to the weekly visits, we help organize big events. For example, on October 7, we had more than 1,100 11th graders from all of the high schools in Osceola County on campus for a sample class. High school students were able to take a sample class with our great faculty. Some students learned about careers in hospitality, criminal justice, statistics, and biotechnology.

Presentation Notes
In addition to working with middle and high school students, we also have welcomed elementary school students from Central Avenue Elementary to the Osceola Campus. Last summer, the Superintendent of the Osceola School District asked Dr. Plinske if we could help mentor students at Central Avenue. Last year, only 17% of the 3rd graders at Central Avenue passed the FCAT. The Osceola Campus adopted Central Avenue Elementary, and more than 75 students, faculty, and staff served as mentors to students there. In addition, we invited students from Central Avenue to the Osceola Campus in February and in May. In February, all of the 4th and 5th graders visited us for a few hours, and on May 7th, all of the 5th graders came back for a day of mock college.
