31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

1. What experience of God’s nearness and farness have you experienced in the past (or present)? What doubts have you had for whether God cares and can help you in life? What have you done in the past to address these issues?

2. What impact does knowing that being in union with Jesus Christ by faith means being connected with the one who is fully God and fully man?

3. What does this mean for your connection to God? What does this mean for your salvation? What does this mean for knowing whether God can help you in your life?
