‘JUST A THOUGHT’......
Mark Twain the famous American author once said that 'really great people can make you feel that
you too can become great.
What makes for the best start to a blueprint for a wonderful, happy and successful life?
A belief in your own self-worth and a deep belief in your own dignity; in yourself.
Never allow anybody –however great or important they may seem to be- to take that away from you.
So,
'If someone is trying to pull you down, they are already beneath you'
One of the most courageous things you can do is to know who you are, know what it is that you believe
and where it is that you want to go.
It is all too easy to allow your dignity, your self worth to be laughed at by others. Don’t let it be!
Know your own values, what is important to you. Live your life in a way that shows others your values.
There is an African proverb which states quite simply:
‘Nobody will think you are somebody if you don’t think it yourself.’
You count! You matter! You are important! You have real worth! Your life is a blessing. Mr. Goulbourn

TEA TOWELS
WELL DONE!
FORM 6 ART AND DESIGN
Well done to all of the children who performed so
beautifully in the Morning Concert on Tuesday. Pupils
in Forms 1-6 played and sung pieces that they are
preparing for the Alderley Edge Music Festival and
music examinations. Some children who have only
been learning for a very short time also played. It is
wonderful to see the children performing with
confidence and making such excellent progress. Well
done. I was very proud of you all. Mrs. Le Sueur
We have started a new topic on African
art forms. We are learning to use Batik
tools.
Thank you to everyone who bought a tea towel at
our farm shop and cafe. We have raised lots of
money for charity from the sale of these. There
are still some tea towels available so if you
missed out or would like more, then please see
Miss Randles in Kindergarten. They are £5 each
and make a lovely keep sake or gift. Thank you.

GOLDFISH NAMED!

pet goldfish as part of their homework. On
Wednesday we put all of the names into a hat....
meet Sugar, James Pond and Nemo.
Miss Randles
Form 6 also enjoyed making dragonfly
sculptures with Willow Artist, Juliette
Hamilton. The children worked well with
this new material and created some
superb pieces.

HOUSE SWIMMING F4-6
House swimming was a great success on Monday morning!
The children arrived promptly at Wilmslow Leisure Centre, eager to
start. Once at poolside, the Year 6 competitions soon got under
way. The first race was with a float using a leg kick action only,
followed by front crawl, freestyle and breaststroke races.
Year 5 then completed their races, followed by Year 4. There was
lots of cheering and shouts of encouragement from the children and
it was lovely to see so many parents supporting. There was a
fabulous team spirit amongst the children which was wonderful to
see.
House points were awarded according to finishing positions and the
number of children who took part from each House. It was a very
close finish between 3rd and 4th place!
The results are as follows:
1st place – Fytton
2nd place—Clarke
3rd place—Newton
4th place—Pownall
Well done to all those who took part! Mrs. Johnstone
