Dear PPRA Conference Organizers and Delegates:
Congratulations on selecting Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada as thedestination for the 2015 Pavement Preservation and Recycling Alliance Conference. On behalf of the City of Niagara Falls, we are honoured to beyour host city and look forward to your arrival.
In today’s economy we are in fierce competition for tourist dollars. Wehave to sell the Niagara Falls “experience”, not just the falls. This meansour road infrastructure has to be functional and meet its performanceexpectations. We can’t afford to inconvenience our visitors during theirstay here. We need to get it right and make it last. Our Municipal Worksteam is working hard to evaluate and monitor pavement conditionsthroughout the City to determine which roads need repaving, rehabilitationor replacement. City council has embraced an Asset ManagementStrategy that will pave the way to better capital investment decisions andguide us closer to the challenging goal of sustainability.
Niagara Falls is naturally exciting, delicious, fun, beautiful, tempting, and
interesting. Please be certain to include some casual time in your
conference agenda as there’s just so much to experience in Niagara. I
look forward to seeing you in Niagara Falls.
Sincerely,
James M. Diodati
Mayor

After your cruise on the Hornblower, we will travel to Stratus Wines, sponsored by McAsphalt Industries Ltd. and Miller Paving Limited, for a tour through through their LEED-certified winery for a first-hand look at the way Stratus is creating “new traditions” in winemaking. You’ll learn how Stratus combines age-old practices, such as moving wine through gravity flow, with unique innovations, like their elevator tanks and customizable sorting tables. Every tour ends with a delicious, guided tasting of four selected Stratus wines - the best way to explore the vineyard.
