The school “Panella-Vallauri” is an Industrial Tecnichal Institute in the heart of Reggio Calabria, it was founded in 1881.It offers different adresses of study as mechanics, chemical, electronics and electrotechnical, information technology, graphics.During the school year there are different projects after lessons in the afternoon.It is one of the most important school of the city and it is placed in a historic building.initially only the institute “Antonio Panella” existed. Nextly there was the demand to do an new building to contain all students and since that moment the new place was called “Antonio Panella” and became indipendent from the old institute that the first october 1976 was called “Giancarlo Vallauri” .In 2013 in order to respect the new laws of instruction’s ministry the institute “G. Vallauri ” is included into the institute “A. Panella”, now it is called industrial technical institute “Panella-Vallauri”.

Antonio Panella was born in Reggio Calabria on 28th November 1895. Lieutenant of “Brigata Messina” and hero of First Great War.He was honored with gold medal for military valor.

Giancarlo Vallauri was born in Rome on 19th October 1882.He studied electrical engineering and was the promoter of origin of the Institute of Electrical and Radiotelegraph Marine.He was a studious and researcher too. His studies about ferromagnetism confirmed the phenomenon of rotating magnetic hysteresis’s existence.He invented the magnetic doubler of frequency with magnetic substraction.
