2014 elections will constitute the 16th Lok Sabha in India

2014 general elections are going to be the longest running electionsin the history of the nation

7 April – 12 May2014 elections will be held in9 phases

814 million people will be eligible to vote

A number larger than the population of Europe

That makes itTHE BIGGEST elections world has ever seen

Everyone gets to exercise their right to vote

426 million males387 million females

And 28,341 citizens from the third gender, classified as “Others”

23 Million citizens will vote for the first time

930,000 polling stations across the country will be setup

None of the Above (NOTA) option will be used for the first time in a parliamentary poll.
