TRANSCRIPT
The Scroll of the prophet Isaiah was
handed to Him. Unrolling it, He found the place
where it is written: “The Spirit of the LORD is on
me, because He has anointed me to preach good
news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim
freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for
the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the
year of the LORD’s favor.” Luke 4:17-19/Isaiah 61:1-2

Music is one way of worshiping our Lord, and it adds to the spoken
word shared each Sunday. Music can tell a story, appeal to your
emotions and help you consider your place in the worship service.
The adult Choir is busy preparing anthems for each Sunday morning and will begin this
month to work on our Christmas musical. We would love all who have a gift of music to
join us. The choir meets in the choir room every Wednesday at 7:20 pm. We do have a
really good time working together to prepare for Sunday morning worship. We usually
work on music for several weeks before we perform a piece.
Our Christmas musical this year is titled Peace Has Come . It seems that every day we hear
more and more bad news, and I felt we should focus this year on the peace that only
Jesus can provide. Of course, there will be some he traditional Christmas hymns as part of
this musical, but there will also be those that focus on the name of Jesus and how that
name can bring peace to a troubled world.
Our Christmas musical will be presented twice this season and we hope you will enjoy the
music each time. Please consider joining us for the Christmas season, if not for the whole
year. Practice for our Christmas music does begin this month and I hope many of you will
join us. Come to choir and begin the fun!
