PPVC

WHAT IS PPVC

PPVC means a construction method whereby free-standing volumetric modules(complete with finishes for walls, floors and ceilings) are constructed and assembled inan accredited fabrication facility, in accordance with any accredited fabrication method, and then installed in a building under building works.

PRECAST FIT OUT PREFINISHED

CHARACTERISTICS OF PPVC SYSTEM

RC Walls– Comprises 90mm thick walls located on two long sides of modules

Floor slab –Comprises 130mm thick RC floor slabs spanning across the shorter span of modules on beams.

Balcony and AC

Ledge- Balcony/AC slab will be cantilever

Ceiling – RC ceiling flat slab of 70mm thick is provided

This PPVC system

developed by

Dragages

Singapore is

particularly

suited for

building projects

as it provides

robustness on the

structure and

enhanced durability.

PPVC LIFTING BEST PRACTICES

• 1866 modules

• Modules weigh between 18

tons and 32 tons

• 2 towers & 40 storeys high

REQUIREMENTS

METHOD STATEMENT

PPVC LIFTING BEST PRACTICES

LIFTING PLAN

• To ensure safe

lifting of PPVC

Modules

• Prepare and curb

risks associated

with lifting

• To ensure lifting

procedures are

informed to

relevant persons

PPVC LIFTING BEST PRACTICES

Gantry Crane

• 2 nos 30 ton

• 2 nos 20 ton (synchronized)

• Production Capacity

➢12 days per module

PPVC STORAGE ON SITE

PPVC is stored

such that Crane

Operators can

fully see the load

without

obstruction while

lifting

PPVC LIFTING BEST PRACTICES

HIGH-CAPACITY TOWER CRANES (LIEBHERR)

• Brought in from Germany

specifically for the Canopy

Project

• SWL: 40 ton

• First time to use these types

of cranes for residential

projects due to PPVC

technology

• MOM type-approved

crane

• More expensive but is safer

to use especially for lifting

at higher heights

PPVC LIFTING BEST PRACTICES

HIGH-CAPACITY TOWER CRANES

(LIEBHERR)

• Easier to erect and

dismantle due to

monoblock design

• Lighter weight

compared to other

cranes of the same

capacity

• Hammer-head type

which is the fastest

type of tower crane

• Higher end crane

due to newer

technical equipment

PPVC LIFTING BEST PRACTICES

HIGH-CAPACITY TOWER CRANES

(LIEBHERR)

• Micro-move function for precise

positioning and speed ideal for

PPVC Installation

• Electronic Monitoring System

(EMS) allows to precisely delimit

the working area

SELF-BALANCING LIFTING FRAME

A special lifting

frame was

designed, approved

and fabricated

specifically to

ensure safety during

the lifting and

installation of the

heavy modules

PPVC LIFTING BEST PRACTICES

• Each wire rope SWL is 5T

• Each pulley SWL 8T

SELF-BALANCING LIFTING FRAME

PPVC LIFTING BEST PRACTICES

SELF-BALANCING LIFTING FRAME

• Daily Inspection by Lifting Supervisor

• Monthly Inspection by Method Manager

• Magnetic Particle Inspection – 6 months

• Steel Wires are replaced by each 7 floor

lifting of module installation.

PPVC LIFTING BEST PRACTICES

Balanced Lift – Evenly spread load enables a balanced lifting.

Less manpower – Maximum of 2 riggers are enough to secure all the 12lifting hooks. (In conventional method tedious rigging work involved to balancethe load evenly by using additional chain blocks in all the hooking points).

Time saved – Easy to hook and faster. Ready to use.

Productivity- Improvement in the productivity and more modules are lifted.

Quality – High quality assured without any damage.

Compact storage - Does not occupy much space when not in use. Can bestored over an existing module.

Recycle and reuse - Can be detached and transferred to other similarprojects.

Zero Incidents - Ensures a complete safety during a lifting process.

ACHIEVEMENT

• Zero Lifting Incidents

• Zero Breakdown

• Schedule Faster

• More Safe Working Condition

• Employees Morale increased

• Zero Material Damages
