Hans Persson established his business in 1938 in the town of Lugnås in Sweden

A number of his first guitars in 1938 had fretboards corrected for intonation

Hans Persson was constantly looking for improvements.

In 1947 Levin ordered 500,000 guitar strings from Lugnås. We still make them.

The factory’s production capacity is more than 3000 guitars per year

Hans Persson’s son Lennart has worked in the factory since 1959

The factory is the only guitar factory in Scandinavia. It has produced more than 45000 guitars since it was started in 1938

In the 1960’s, 70,000 necks were made for Levin and Goya guitars Today, Levin’s top classical models are made in Lugnås

So one of the world’s most famous guitars came through our factory…

From 1964 Lugnås designed and produced 7000 guitars for guitar virtuoso Evert Ahlander

In the 1970’s, the factory produced guitars for Birger Steiner under the Steiner and BS brands
