my presentation skills are crapplease help ME !

Pep Talk to Grade 12 TOK students

Your audience will read your slides faster than you talk.

Never, ever, ever, put word-for-word what you are saying, instead use strong visuals to help

add to your story, and not to give it away before it comes out of your mouth

Ideally, I would eliminate 90% of this text in a face-to-

face presentation

When someone puts all their text in a presentation, I say to myself….

What is the point of being here…! just email me your

presentation and I will read it later

Get your text right

Text is ok at times if you are focusing on your main points, or wish to add particular

emphasis.

Think about how you add text in relation to images.

Choose appropriate colours, match fonts, and think carefully about

size and order of importance.
