WRITING You’re the subject matter expert, but writing for video is
a discipline all its own—and few people have as much
experience as we do. We love translating your expertise into
an engaging video script. Each of our Creative Directors is
an expert scriptwriter with years of experience in optimizing
content for maximum impact in the video medium.
MESSAGING STRATEGY Sometimes, you already have your messaging worked out.
And that’s great! We’ll be sure your video script is consistent
with that. Other times, it’s still in process—or maybe not
even that far along. As we develop video concepts, we’re
more than happy to share our thoughts on how to hone your
messaging even beyond the video.
VISUAL CRAFTANIMATION Epipheo is one of the world’s largest animation studios

PROCESS AND PRICING
STAGE 1. DISCOVERY
SEEK FIRST TO UNDERSTAND. Every project starts with questions. Lots of questions. What are
you trying to achieve? Why does your thing matter? What a-ha
moment does your audience need to have? It’s okay if the
conversation is a little messy. We like these kinds of messes.
It’s all about getting down to the raw material—the good stuff
that will make up the meat of your message.
Once we understand you and your message, we can help others
do the same.
STAGE 2. PLANNING
CAST THE CREATIVE VISION. The Planning stage is about getting your eyes on the creative
vision we have for your project.
Our Art Directors and Creative Directors work in tandem to
develop a story arc and visual concept that is both effective and
on-budget. Using reference images, sample narration, and lots
of hand waving, we work with you to set an agreed upon
direction for your video.
STAGE 3. PRE-PRODUCTION
MEASURE TWICE. CUT ONCE. Now that the creative direction is set, it’s time to start making
the nitty-gritty decisions. We’ll write the script, create a
custom illustration style sample, and then storyboard each
scene. Typically this is delivered in the form of an animatic—
a set of moving storyboards timed to a rough voiceover
recording. This allows us to fine tune language, timing,
framing, and action before moving into the Production stage.
STAGE 4. PRODUCTION
EXECUTE WITH EXCELLENCE. The vision has been cast. The decisions have all been made.
Now it’s simply time to execute. This is when animators
animate, illustrators illustrate, and directors direct the shoot.
It’s when editors edit, composers compose, and narrators
narrate. It’s when audio engineers mix and master, art
directors push for excellence, and creative directors
champion clarity.
And then it’s finished.
STAGE 5. DEPLOYMENT
REACH YOUR AUDIENCE. How are people going to watch your video content? Will they
even be able to find it? Simply creating a video is not enough.
You have to factor in things like platform, media buys, and ad
management to get the engagement you need.
In some cases, this could mean we’re building out the host
website, landing pages, or LMS (learning management system).
In other cases, it could mean we’re purchasing media on
various social platforms and managing the day-to-day
operations of the campaign.

They’re our way of creating checkpoints for your approvals
as we go along.
In Content Strategy, we’ll deliver a Strategy Plan: a PDF document
containing an articulation of the objectives and metrics for the
series, topics and titles for each video, a proposed sequence, and
sample artwork to define the look and tone.
In Planning, we’ll deliver a Story Plan: a PDF document containing
a written description of the messaging arc, reference visuals,
and a video of your Creative Director pitching the creative vision.
In Pre-Production, we’ll deliver a Production Plan: a PDF document
containing a written script, art style, voiceover recommendation,
and a video of storyboards timed to rough narration (an animatic).
In Production & Post, we’ll deliver the final video. This is the
finished, full-res version of the video.
REVISION CYCLES ARE NORMAL One of the reasons we provide deliverables at each stage of the
process is because we want your feedback. If we nail it the first
time, great! On to the next stage. But if it still needs a little work,
no problem. That’s built in to the process and timeline.
We take your feedback and return with a revised version for your
feedback or approval. Rest assured we won’t march ahead to the
next stage of the process without your sign-off.
APPROVALS ARE FINAL We work hard to give you everything you need to make a
thoughtful and informed decision at each milestone of the
process. But once the decision is made, it’s onward and upward!
In other words, moving backward in the process is not part of
the process. For example, if you sign off on the Story Plan, then
decide in Pre-Production you’d like us to come up with an entirely
new concept or messaging arc, then alarm bells will go off.
That’s not to say that we can never go backwards. It’s just that
we’ll have to have a money conversation.
