Training Module #7Product Line - Pulleys and Bushings

Types of Pulleys/Sheaves/Sprockets

Classical QD PulleysHigh-quality cast iron heavy duty pulleys for classical (A,B,C,D) V-belts. Standardized QD bushings.

Types of Pulleys/Sheaves/Sprockets

QD BushingsStandardized for interchangeability. Tapered and fully split through bore length for equivalent of interference fit.

Types of Pulleys/Sheaves/Sprockets

Durapower Pulleys -Bushed TypeCast iron, for all types of light-duty and FHP applications using 3L, 4L, 5L, A and B section V-belts. Bushing interchanges with similar competitive types.

Types of Pulleys/Sheaves/Sprockets

Durapower Pulleys -Fixed Bore TypeCast iron, bored and keywayed to fit popular shaft sizes. For light duty use with 3L, 4L, 5L, A and B section V-belts.

Types of Pulleys/Sheaves/Sprockets

Durapower Pulleys -Adjustable DiameterRugged cast iron, two-piece threaded assembly allows adjustment of pitch diameter. Combination grooves for use with 3L, 4L, 5L, A and B section V-belts.

Types of Pulleys/Sheaves/Sprockets

RPP Panther SprocketsConstructed from highest quality materials and designed specifically for use with RPP Panther belts. The sprocket teeth are made to mesh and conform exactly to those of the belt, resulting in a drive which functions as a precision gear system.

Types of Pulleys/Sheaves/Sprockets

RPP SprocketsPrecision companion to RPP belts on high torque synchronous drives. Available in plain bore or QD bushed types in 8M, 14M and 20M pitches.

Types of Pulleys/Sheaves/Sprockets

Synchro-Cog Timing PulleysFor perfect mating with timing belts on synchronous drives. Available in plain bore or QD bushed types for pitches XL through XXH.

Types of Pulleys/Sheaves/Sprockets

Power-Wedge QD PulleysHigh capacity cast iron pulleys for use with narrow (3V, 5V, 8V) V-belts. Standardized QD bushings.

Three Major Sheave/Pulley Types

•QD (Quick Detachable) Available from Carlisle, Browning, Maurey, Martin Sprocket, Reliance-Dodge, Woods

•Taper Lok Available from Reliance-Dodge, Gates, TB Woods, Carlisle (Woods and Carlisle on Synchronous sprockets only)

•Split Taper Available only from Browning

Classical QD Pulleys

• For All Classical Profile Belts (A,B,C,D,E)• Catalogued in Single Groove up to 10 groove

• Catalog specifies correct QD Bushing for each size.

• Typical PN 2BQ42 is a 2 Groove, 4.2” B Pitch Diameter and requires an SH Bushing

Power-Wedge QD Pulleys

• For All Wedge Profile Belts (3,5,8 V & VX)

• Catalogued in Single Groove up to 12 groove

• Catalog specifies correct QD Bushing for each size.

• Typical PN 4-3V28 is a 4 Groove, 2.8” Outside Diameter & requires a JA Bushing

RPP Panther Sprockets

• For RPP Panther Belts Only

• Catalogued in 8 &14M pitch, 4 or 5 Widths

• Catalog specifies correct QD Bushing for each size.

• Typical PN 36PTH8-12 is a 36 Groove, 8M Pitch, 12 MM wide sprocket. Takes SH Bushing.

RPP Sprockets

• For RPP Plus Belts (5M, 8M, 14M, 20M)

• Cataloged in differing widths depending on Pitch

• Catalog specifies correct QD Bushing for each size.

• Typical PN P40-5M-25 is a 40 Groove, 5M Pitch sprocket that is 25mm wide. Takes a JA Bushing

Synchro-Cog Timing Pulleys

• For Synchro-Cog Timing Belts (XL,L,H,XH,XXH)

• Cataloged in Std Belt Widths in Bushed or MPB*

• Catalog specifies correct QD Bushing for each size starting with a Q. Parts with M are MPB*.

• Typical PN Q18L050 is 18 Groove, L Pitch, ½” wide and takes a JA Bushing.

*MPB = Minimum Plain Bore

Minimum Plain Bore (MPB)

•MPB Sprockets or Sheaves do not require a bushing.

•They are stocked in a specific bore size such as 3/8” or ½”

•They can be drilled or bored out to whatever diameter the customer requires (Maximum size is defined in catalog).

•Customer can do on his own or we can have it done.

•Example: M17H150 is stocked with a ¾” bore but can be bored out to a maximum of 1-1/4”
