Die eigentliche Konfiguration des Headends erfolgt über die bewährte HE-Programmiersoftware, in der z.B. die Eingangs- und Ausgangsparameter eingestellt werden können.

Die gesamte Konfiguration des Headends wird im BC-4 abgespeichert, so dass eine lokale Speicherung (PC) überflüssig ist.

Z.B. übernimmt der BC-4 automatisch die Inbetriebnahme eines (falls nötig) ausgetauschten Modules, ohne dass ein Service-Techniker aktiv in die Konfiguration eingreifen muss.

In Verbindung mit dem in Q1/2009 erscheinenden Ausgangsscanners werden periodisch alle QAM-, PAL- und FM-Signale auf Vorhandensein getestet und im Bedarfsfall vom BC-4 ersatzgeschaltet.
