Arc Welding Plate
In order for a student to graduate with a
Certificate of Completion, the student must have
at least a 2.00 cumulative GPA with no failing
grades in the core classes.
Associate in Applied Science Degree
To earn an Associate in Applied Science degree,
the student must complete the Certificate
Requirements plus any core emphasis classes for
a total of at least 45 credit hours.
An additional 15 credit hours of general
education classes (6 hours of communications
and 9 hours from at least two of the following
disciplines: humanities/social & behavioral
sciences/mathematics & science) are required
plus elective hours for a grand total of at least 64
credit hours. Students must maintain a 2.00
cumulative GPA.

Tuition & Fees coincide with Seward
County Community College/Area
Technical School’s cost per credit
hour. Books and tools may be extra
and can be purchased from the
bookstore.

Welding Technology
Trains students to become skilled
artisans combining both art and
science in their profession. Entry
level and advanced welding
involves fusion of metals using an
electric arc or gas torch to create
useful metal objects from
blueprints or original designs.
Welders hold an important place
in modern industry, working in a
variety of settings including:
manufacturing, construction, oil &
gas, maintenance and repair.
Welders are needed in every
industry where metal is used.
