Regional Magazine
• In my magazine I am going to abide by the main conventions of a regional magazine in terms of house style and format on the
front cover• I am going to use the rule of thirds and include nine cover lines and two smaller
images• The main image is going to be a
picturesque image in the countryside - the destination of this I need to decide
Contentswhite background
informative contents information
simplistic style with black font
neat columns to add to sophisticated style
I will include about seven images on a strip around the middle of the contents page – the content information will be underneath
I need to include the date, the issue number and information on subscriptions
Double Page Spread• The double page spread will have a white
background• the font will be black to create contrast and
continue the house style• the article will be an article on a new
opening restaurant, or local shop• there will be multiple images that relate to
the magazine article (3 or 4)• the article will use sophisticated language and be long - this will attract the hedgehog
readers
Billboard Posterthe house style will continue onto the poster which will create a better brand identity and appeal to those looking at it
the poster must be colourful and eye catching which means that an image of nature and countryside must be used.
the poster will include important information including price, date, issue number.
The information cover lines must appeal to the audience around them, for example, the poster wont get much attention if it is in Poundland because more affluent people will be shopping at Sainsbury’s or Tescos (a more likely place to put it)
the billboard poster will include an image of the front page of my magazine. This will appeal to those who have seen it before and to those who are interested in buying it from seeing the billboard poster
The focal image will be a village sign that has the magazine name in it. This will be used so that the audience will recognise that the magazine is associated heavily with local communities in the region
I could also look at including a silhouette of landmarks in the region at the top of my billboard poster.
Radio Advert• I will split the radio advert into four or five sections, these will follow the conventions of a
radio advert - it must be informative and concise but still create a sophisticated style that will
attract the right audience• I will use a female speaker, aged about 45 - this
will directly relate to my target audience• the background music will be sophisticated and
reflect the tastes in music and attract them• the advert will be on at peak times in the morning
and at various points throughout weekdays, it will be on less at weekends as women will be
spending time with family and friends.
